Ministry experience

While at Bible College, Travis was blessed to be involved in many ministries of the church which included: bus ministry, children’s church, jail ministry, nursing home ministry and a few others as well.

The one thing that Travis did throughout Bible College was a special ministry called the “City Bus Route”. Along with friend Hank Miskelly, Travis started this bus ministry for the homeless in nearby Augusta, GA. Hundreds of men came to know the Lord as Savior as a result of this ministry that brought several dozen homeless men to Sunday morning church services at Victory Baptist Church in North Augusta.

After graduating from college in 1999, Travis and April were accepted with Baptist Missions to Forgotten Peoples to be missionaries to the homeless. With the first goal of establishing a rescue mission in Augusta, GA, they began to raise their support. In 2001, the Lord blessed in a great way and along with the help and support of Victory Baptist Church, Travis began the Garden City Rescue Mission in Augusta.

Travis and April worked for eight years in Augusta to establish this wonderful ministry that became a real haven of rest for the homeless in Augusta. Today, Garden City Rescue Mission is a thriving homeless shelter that reaches not only homeless men but women and children as well. www.GardenCityRescueMission.com

After leaving the Rescue Mission in the care of his Father-in-Law in May of 2009, Travis and his family have set out to work with the homeless in many cities across the country and possibly around the world as well!

He is constantly preaching in children's churches as we travel around.
